This spring we will begin selling our leafy greens and herbs at the Guthrie Green farmers market. The market will be open every Thursday at 4 p.m., starting on April 23.

We are excited to be partnering with the Vault restaurant for this week’s 4 course Vegetarian Wine Dinner, with dishes featuring our herbs and greens. Our own Rob Walenta will be on hand to explain more about our operation. Tickets are $30 for dinner & $20 for wine pairings. The dinner is this Thursday, March 26th at 6:30 pm. They can be purchased in groups of 20, 30, and 40. There is a limited supply, so come early. We open at 2:00pm.

Walking through the hydroponic greenhouse at Scissortail Farms surrounded by hundreds of towers of the freshest greens and herbs is a futuristic experience. The lettuce, kale, chard, basil, sorrel, chives — about 30 different varieties of vegetative plants — grow thick and lush.
It’s a forest of green plants peeking out from all sides of large cylindrical white towers. Every so often, water pumps through towers, trickling down inside, sounding like a gentle waterfall. The edible plants are especially tender because they aren’t exposed to the elements, explained co-founder Rob Walenta.
